Recently, the Pine Community Center was the setting for an evening of pure magic! As a part of the international event of Tellabration -- the gathering of storytellers around the world on the Saturday before Thanksgiving -- a group of seven tellers shared their tales with a spellbound audience.
Local favorites such as "Buckshot Dot," and a young man who combined story with tap-dancing spun stories of times in Arizona, Ireland and Africa. The crisp mountain air, spiced cider and homemade cookies at intermission, and the opportunity to mingle with the tellers created the kind of special evening that all listeners of all ages remember long after the event has ended.
ine is indeed fortunate to have been chosen as the setting of one of only five such gatherings in our state. Anyone who has enjoyed listening to "A Prairie Home Companion" should place this annual event on his or her "Can't Miss" list.
