The Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce has been hammered in recent months by many of its members for lack of performance and questionable actions.
The tide has turned in the eyes of new Chamber Manager John Stanton, who is focused on "getting back to the basics" and redeeming the Chamber's standing among its members.
The chamber will hold its annual meeting Wednesday and along with the election of several new board members, Stanton said the meeting will focus on proactive solutions to problems.
"I'd like to confirm that we are a proactive chamber," he said.
"We look to move business forward in Rim Country."
Wednesday's meeting will focus on input from members on how to improve operations, Stanton said.
"I'm going to ask (chamber members) if they have come up with ideas or thoughts they'd like us to implement," he said.
Stanton was named Chamber manager at the last meeting of members on Oct. 24, replacing former Director Tina Bruess. He said his first several weeks as manager have been very positive and he is encouraged by the comments he has received.
The annual meeting will be held at 8 a.m. at the Best Western in Payson. All chamber members are welcome to attend.
