Is your calendar filling up with Christmas celebration parties as much as in the Snyder household? This time of year gets very hectic with shopping for gifts, parties, and sprucing up your home with lights and decorations. Just remember to keep everything simple and try not to stress out.

Tonto Village will have its share of parties, as well.

The first one will be the Domino Divas hosting their annual Christmas party on December 5. Everything starts at 1 p.m. at the Tonto Village Chapel. Bring a festive dish and a gift for exchanging, not to exceed $10.

The next party will be sponsored by the Tonto Village Fire District and the Diamond Star Fire Department. The date is Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Lamplighter recreation hall, 255701 E. Highway 260, Star Valley.

Fire Chief Gary Hatch will provide the main dish.

Potluck dishes will be by alphabet. Last name A - I: salad and appetizers, last name J-R: side dish, last name S-Z: dessert. There will be a White Elephant gift exchange to cost no more than $10, if gender specific, please label ‘male' or ‘female'. There will also be a poker and pool tournament after dinner.

Firefighter graduation

Collins Ranch, Rick Washburn and Chief Gary Hatch will host a firefighter graduation celebration for the six firefighters graduating from Firefighter I and II fire school.

The celebration will include a Christmas party for all of the members of both fire departments and the people of Collins Ranch.

A gift exchange and potluck dinner will be included. Please call fire board chairman Rick Washburn if you plan to attend either party.

A head count is needed in order to purchase enough meat. Rick's phone number is (928) 478-4663, or e-mail him at rickwashburn@hughes.net.

Tonto Village Fire District

The monthly meeting of the fire district was held on Tuesday evening, Nov. 27.

The board discussed the date and time of future meetings because of conflicts of days and time with emergency medical technician (EMT) training of the firefighters.

Starting with the Dec. 12 meeting, which is on a Wednesday, the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Then, all future meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of every month. Please check the fire district Web site for more detailed information, including the latest newsletter from Chief Hatch. The Web site is www.tontovillagefire.org.

Merger workshop

The special workshop session meeting for the possible merger of the Tonto Village Fire District and Diamond Star Fire Department will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the Diamond Star Fire Station. The sessions are open to the public. All dates for these sessions are on the Tonto Village fire district Web site or at mergerissures@ diamondstarfire.com.

Pool results

Sunday afternoon at the Double D was busy with pool shooters vying for the top shooter. Brian Mead from Mead's Ranch shot the best, followed by Harvey Poyner and Cliff Landrum. I'm happy to see Cliff back in the competition.

Tuesday evening the gals took over for their nine-ball competition. Ethel Cain shot for first place, Patty Boeschling and Payge Ferriera shot for second and third places.

Congratulations to all the winners.
