Pete Pancrazi, award-winning jazz guitarist and vocalist, will be returning to Payson to perform in a "Jazzy Holiday" celebration at the Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main Street, on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.
While Pancrazi is an outstanding solo performer, he is adding several professional musicians, which promises to make an even more enjoyable afternoon of music.
Steven Von Wald will join him on saxophone, Vic Kottner on bass, and local Gerry Reynolds will play drums.
The event is sponsored by the Payson Friends of Jazz and the church. There is a $5 donation at the door.
ancrazi is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music located in Boston, Massachusetts, where he received the college's Performers Scholarship, and won the Performer/ Songwriter Award four times.
He also won the Boston ASCAP Songwriter's Award. Downbeat Magazine named Pancrazi "one to watch," and AzJazz Magazine named him "Jazz Guitar Player of the Year" from their readers' poll.
Mix in several other talented musicians, include some wonderful holiday tunes, thenadd the spice of jazz, and the result will be a holiday feast to fill the heart and soul.
