The main two events for the 125th Anniversary Thursday night started and ended with rain, but not too many people left after they discovered the fun being had by those who came out for the festivities.
There were slices of about 30 different kinds of pie to be had for only a dollar a slice.
The evening started with auctioning off various picnic baskets, between the intermittent showers, with bids going from a low of $25 to $110 for one basket that had silverware and two bottles of wine valued at about $50 each.
The next event was a mock council meeting from 1882 and concerned various annoyances of the that time period. The current mayor, town attorney, several council members and prominent members of the business community participated as 1882 council members. A good time was had by all, despite the rain.
