It Was A Cool, Crisp Lovely Oktoberfest At Creekside

This last weekend was the first Oktoberfest for Creekside Steakhouse.

It was a beautiful weekend outside. The air was crisp and cool. The leaves are changing and it is getting dark at 6:30 p.m. Can you believe it? And the elk are bugling up a storm. What a wonderful time of the year to live in Christopher Creek.

There was a lot of music, beer and fun Saturday and Sunday at the Oktoberfest. The crew at Creekside presented owner, Wolfgang Klien with a birthday cake, which he blew out the candles, made a wish and cut the cake.

Gee, Wolfgang! That looked like a lot of candles on that cake. Everyone had a great time and can't wait till next year, when it will be bigger and better.

Ninth Annual Ladies Retreat

Don't forget this coming Wednesday, Oct. 10 is the Ladies Annual Retreat at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Chapel. Bring along your favorite salad to share!

Also, there will be a 5 p.m. dinner at Creekside Steakhouse for those who would like to attend and an optional overnight, with a 9 a.m. breakfast at Creekside. Bring along a friend or two for a day and evening of spiritual blessing.

For more information on the retreat, call Pat Guevara at 478-4122 or Jane Johnson at 468-8048.

Halloween Festivities

It's October and that means pumpkins and Halloween for the kids.

Debbie at Tall Pines has fresh pumpkins for sale and she is all decorated for Halloween for the kids.

I will be driving around to see who else is in the Halloween spirit. Saturday, Oct. 27 is the Annual Christopher Creek Homeowner's meeting, and the Annual Halloween hayride for the kids in Christopher Creek.

All the fun starts at 5 p.m. at the fire hall, where they will load up and head out for a night of trick-or-treat. Call Karen Thornton at (928) 478-4133, or Judy Tolle at (928) 478-0508 for more information.

Annual trick or treat hayride is Oct. 27

Those of you who live in Hunter Creek will be having our Second Annual Trick-or-Treat Hayride on Saturday, Oct. 27. Steve Matheson will again be pulling the trailer with his antique tractor.

Everyone is to meet at Wooden Nickel at 5 p.m. in their favorite costumes, where we will judge the little ones' costumes, feed them and load up for a night of trick-or-treat.

This year Steve and a few other neighbors have a surprise for the little ghosts and goblins. Please call me if your kids or grandkids are going and if you are going to pass out candy, for we will only go to the homes that call and let us know and neighbors need to know how much candy they will need.

Thanks to all those that support this fun event for the kids. Call me at (928) 478-4519.

Ralph Bryan will be adding another candle to his birthday cake on Oct. 7.

His lovely wife Mary Bryan will be celebrating her birthday on Oct. 8.

Rick Schantz who is on the Christopher/Kohl's Fire department will be celebrating his birthday, also on Oct. 8.

Sweet Elli Ashby is going to be celebrating her birthday on Oct. 12.

Wishing all of you a wonderful birthday and may all your wishes come true.
