Charles Roland Clausen


Charles Roland Clausen, 88, of Payson, died Oct. 4, 2007.

Mr. Clausen was born April 2, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio, to Alfred Bruno Leopold and Martha Alberts Clausen, who were both from Germany and now deceased. He is the last of six children and served in the U.S. Cavalry, when the Army still had horses.

He fought in World War II, Burma Theater. He was a high priest in the LDS Church and a Sunday school president for 10 years. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge Oriental #20.

Survivors include Shirley, his wife of 42 years; daughters, Tina Page and Wendy Clausen; sons, C.R. Clausen, Garrett Davis, Kenny Davis, Clyde Davis, Howard Davis and Lynn Davis (deceased); 20 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday at the Christopher Creek Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with burial in the Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale.

The family has requested donations be made to RTA Hospice, 511 S. Mud Springs, Payson, AZ 85541.
