Gene Autry, 76, of Payson, Ariz. and formerly of Carlsbad, N.M., died Oct. 3, 2007 in Phoenix.
Mr. Autry was a member of the Carlsbad Elks Lodge, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriner's Clowns.
Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant, Mr. Autry worked in New Mexico and California as a car salesman, and worked for W.I.P.P contractors in Carlsbad.
He is survived by his wife, Coradene Autry of Payson; daughters, Susan Autry of Honolulu, Hawaii and Pam Gough of Carlsbad, N.M.; sons, Gary Autry of Honolulu, Hawaii and Jack D. Wigley of Gilbert, Ariz.; sisters, Ailene Bommer of Victoria, Texas and Carment Allor of Glendora, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place at Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, Ariz. and no formal services are planned, as per Mr. Autry's request.
The family has planned a celebration of life at the Queen Campground in the Guadalupe Mountains on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Further information may be obtained by contacting Pam Gough at (505) 361-4069.
