True Beauty program
True Beauty is a special, free clinic for pre-teen and teenage girls. Its purpose is to introduce and/or reinforce Biblical standards about issues young girls face in their daily lives such as self-esteem, purity, modesty, relationships, and choices.
This is a five-week course consisting of one, two-hour class each week. The classes are divided into three sessions. The first session is a short Bible teaching on the topic of the day. The second session will be a practical application lesson to reinforce the teaching. The last session consists of a fun life skill.
The class size is limited to no more than 20 girls. The classes themselves are approximately 20-30 minutes long, leaving time for plenty of interaction between the instructors, the girls, and their peers. It is hoped the peer bonding will continue long after the classes end and the girls will encourage each other and hold each other accountable throughout their teen years and beyond.
For more information or to register for the event, please feel free to give Jodee Smith a call at (928) 476-3561 or call Calvary Chapel at (928) 468-0801.
Couples' date night will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Payson Living Word Bible Church on Saturday, Oct. 13. Couples' date night helps young parents enjoy a night out to build relationships, while members of the church look after the children.
Parents are invited to come to PLWBC and listen to Pastor Mark Henning's half-hour teaching "Spaghetti & Waffles."
The church's nursery and children's staff will attend to your youngsters while you are released for a date. The church staff will even feed the children.

The First Church of the Nazarene will present the "Sold Out Sisters," a study on living beyond yourself by Beth Moore.
The program is from 5:45 to 8:15 p.m., every Monday at the Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Parkway, Payson.
"You can know the freedom of a life filled with the fruit of the Spirit. Through this study you will come to appreciate the supernatural aspects of the fruit and that you cannot grow, learn or produce the fruit on your own. You will be challenged to develop the fruit by maintaining an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God. As you walk with God, He develops in you the fruit of the Spirit. A Spirit-filled life truly results in living beyond yourself," said Marga Cullumber of the Church of the Nazarene.
