Merlin Duane Vietor


Merlin Duane Vietor, 68, died Oct. 4, 2007. His parents, Herman and Winifred Vietor of Lennox, S.D, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene of Payson, Ariz.; also surviving Mr. Vietor is his brother, Kenny Vietor of Lennox, S.D.: daughters, Kristi Abbas of Lennox, S.D., Karla Vietor of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and his son Michael Vietor of Lennox, S.D. Mr. Vietor also has five stepsons surviving him: Rodney of Salt Lake City, Utah, Steve of Evergreen, Colo., David of Arkansas, Jeff of Anchor Point, Alaska, and Brad of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Vietor proudly served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion.

He was retired from the Mazatzal Casino, where was a casino manager. He was also a graduate of Lennox High School in Lennox, S.D. and a member of the Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church.

A memorial service was held at the Church of Christ in Payson on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
