Why do you teach? I love to share what I have been learning through my life with my students.

Personal motto / words of wisdom: "Life is a gift..."

Family: My wife, Stefanie and two sons, Francesco Andrea Perje and Andrew Allesasandro Maria. All have been great support and inspiration for what I do -- teaching and art.

Favorite hobby or leisure activity: Active painter since 1972. In 1975, I joined the Academy at Queen's College, New York. I graduated in 1981 and I am still painting.

Person in history you'd most like to meet and why: Amedeo Modigliani -- My master in art, paintings and life!

Why the Rim Country? I like Payson because it is a small city and has what I need and more. I live in Pine, where it is quiet and scenic where I can think and paint.

n school, who was your favorite teacher and why? Doctor Guido Guarino. He was my guide in literature, history art and languages through my master's and Ph.D.

What was your favorite subject in school and why? Biography of artists for their philosophy and way of living. They were a great inspiration for an artist to understand other human artists.

What was your favorite year in school and why? The BA of studio fine art. Then, the intense preparation for the MA and Ph.D. track for teaching literature and Western culture.
