Marlene Kay Morris, longtime Phoenix resident, and part-time Payson resident, died Aug. 26, 2007. She was born Dec. 27, 1937 in Custer, S.D. to Arthur and Margaret Smith Morris. She graduated from Custer High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She worked as a nurse in the Maricopa County Health System.

She is survived by a sister, Maxine Morris (Allan) Fulton; two nieces, Cynthia Fulton (Rick) Crenshaw, Lori Fulton (Stan Sevruk), two nephews, Curtis (Cory) Fulton, Kent (Shar) Fulton and two great-nieces, Eleanor Fulton and Anna Sevruk.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date in Custer, S.D. Donations may be sent to: Scholarship Committee -- American Indian Education Foundation, P.O.
