Library Holding Bookmark Contest For Middle, High School Students

Middle and high school age artists have a chance to win $50 by entering the Second Annual Teen Week Bookmark Contest.

Payson Public Library is sponsoring the contest.

"We have the winning bookmarks made professionally, then have them for library patrons to pick up for free. We make sure the kids have some for themselves and their families," Harryette Stanley, children's librarian said.

Youths may pick up a bookmark template at the library. The drawing can be in black and white or color. It must relate to reading or the library.

Contestants must enter their name, age, grade level and phone number on the back of the bookmark.

First place wins $50, second place wins $25 and third wins $15. The bookmark contest kicked off Teen Read Week, Oct. 15, to encourage children to read.

The winning bookmarks will be announced Nov. 20.

The library is located at Rumsey Park.
