The Community Presbyterian Child Learning Center is holding an evening full of activities from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2nd at 800 West Main Street as part of the Main Street First Friday's event.
Each year the children from Robin Johnson's Pre-K class hold a fund raiser for the Prison Fellowship "Angel Tree" Program that will kick off with a chili dinner, complete with cornbread, salad and beverage for just $5 per person ($20 for a family of 6).
There will also be a delicious bake sale and a silent art auction for items created by the children.
All proceeds from this event will go toward purchasing gifts for children in the Rim Country who are part of this special ministry.
Dinner tickets may be purchased ahead at the Child Learning Center, or Community Presbyterian Church office, or you may buy them at the door.
The Child Learning Center's Preschool class, under the direction of Marcia Olson, is sponsoring a canned food drive as well, beginning Nov. 2 and continuing through Dec. 16.
All nonperishable items may be dropped off at the Child Learning Center or church office weekdays, or brought to the First Friday events at the church. Baskets of food will be assembled and distributed to families in need the week before Christmas.
The Community Presbyterian Church will also hold its monthly sale of "A Greater Gift" featuring beautifully handmade items from around the world.
This is a regular part of the Main Street First Friday activities, and a great way to get your holiday shopping done in advance.
