Have you ever been in a cliff dwelling at night?
Have you ever wondered whether prehistoric people saw the same night sky that we do today?
Come join a Tonto National Monument ranger for a moonlight hike to the Lower Cliff Dwelling and explore this question and other questions this Saturday evening, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m.
The ranger will lead participants along the paved, 1 mile trail, which gains 350 vertical feet in elevation to the Lower Cliff Dwelling.
This two-hour program does require a reservation. Participants are advised to wear sturdy walking shoes and must bring a flashlight. No pets will be allowed for this special activity. Meet the ranger at the monument entrance gate.
The program is free, but please call Tonto National Monument at (928) 467-2241 for reservations or further information, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tonto National Monument is located four miles east of Roosevelt Dam on State Highway 188.
