Mark Robert Phillips died Sept. 6, 2007.
He was a longtime resident of Payson, where he worked and retired from the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Mr. Phillips had a special way of touching the lives of many, whether it be a longtime friend or family member or a new friend made at one of his daily outings. No one was a stranger to the man with the big blue eyes and warm smile.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Marty Stancil and four grandchildren, John Brightwell, Jeff Stancil, Kelly Roxberry and Stuart Henry. Mr. Phillips is also survived by sister-in-law, Pearlene and C.B. Haught and brother-in-law, Larry and Vickie McNeeley, all of Payson. He also has four great-grandchildren, Amanda Brightwell, Dylon Bishop, Kelsie Brockett and Colton Roxberry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Phillips, his mother and father, Dewey and Edda Phillips, and three sisters, Helen, Virginia, and Vivian.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 913 S. Ponderosa St.
