Are you enjoying the warm September afternoons and the lovely, cool nights? Isn't it wonderful to sleep with the windows open, no fan or air conditioning blowing on us, just a gentle breeze drifting through the room? A few nights ago, we were serenaded by a pack of coyotes howling and barking off in the woods. Another night, there was a strong scent of skunk in the air. Once in a while we hear the bugling of elk -- not as often as when we first moved to Payson, but often enough to remind us that despite the urban growth, Payson is still "country" -- and we're lovin' it!
A warm welcome to Edith Alyce, new administrative assistant at the Senior Center. She was a resident of Payson a few years ago, and after a hiatus in Dallas, returned.
