The Gila County pioneers are gathering for an old-fashioned barbecue dinner, dance and auction this weekend and everyone in the Rim Country is invited to attend.
The pioneers will be celebrating at the Tonto Apache gym from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
Dinner is $10 per person (those 5 and under are free) and guests will have a choice of barbecue beef or chicken, coleslaw, cowboy beans and a roll.
Dessert will be offered through an old-fashioned auction, plus there will be quilts, a handcrafted cedar chest and other donated items to bid on.
Rim Country musicians will provide the music for an old two-step, a few cowboy waltzes and more.
