Henry (Hank) Fremont Ashurst died Sept. 22, 2007. He was born July 9, 1925 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Edward B. and Inez Antona (Morris) Ashurst.
The love of Mr. Ashurst's life was his wife, family and his horses. His passion was the cowboy life.
He was raised in Klamath Falls, Ore. and he spent most of his adult life in wonderful places all over Arizona, Northern California and Oregon.
Mr. Ashurst served as a Marine during World War II and was shot through the lung on the 10th day of Iwo Jima. He met the love of his life, Colleen, at the Prescott VA hospital in 1946 and they were married six weeks later. She preceded him in death May 14, 2003.
He became a Christian late in his life and loved to pray.
He is survived by his four children, Shireen Eddings (Loyal) of Phoenix, Edward Ashurst (Jean Ann) of Douglas, Laura Ashurst of Chino Valley and Jean Bowser (Ken) of Bagdad, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at the VA Chapel in Prescott with military honors presented by the American Legion Post #6 Honor Guard. Interment will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
