Book Sales Feed Pine Library Programs

Pine library patrons get to peruse some of their favorite magazines thanks to the generosity of Pine Library Friends.

Children at story time get a snack and the activity room is in the process of redecoration thanks to PLF support.

Becky Waer, director of the Pine library, adjusts items on a shelf in preparation for a recent book sale.

"They support the library financially with book sales and fundraisers. In seven years they have never said no to me when I have asked for something the library needed that was not in the budget," Becky Waer, library director said.

"The fun thing about the library here is that it is like a community center -- a good place to learn about what is going on. It is just a wonderful place for this small community."

The circulation counter is a recent addition PLF donated money to purchase.

Waer said PLF members were a huge help stuffing envelopes for the first-ever survey that the library mailed out to patrons and residents in early 2008.

"The friends make my life easier," Waer said.

PLF book sales happen during the craft fairs on Memorial, Independence and Labor Day weekends.
