Easter beliefs is topic

Bob Mayer will speak about Easter beliefs at 11 a.m., Sunday, April 13 at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane, Payson.

Lectures on C.S. Lewis

Pastor Todd Arnold of the Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church is presenting a series of lectures on author C.S. Lewis. The theme of the lectures is "The life and theology of C.S. Lewis."

The lectures are a culmination of Arnold's studies at Cambridge and Oxford Universities while on sabbatical with his family in England.

The lectures will be presented at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 23 and 30 at the Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson.

National Day of Prayer

Payson is celebrating the National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 1. The theme is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield" Psalm 28:7.

Coordinated by the Payson Christian Ministerial Fellowship, a number of events are planned throughout the day.

Crossroads Foursquare Church, 114 E. Cedar Lane, Payson, will have a program from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. especially for men. A light breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m. For details, call John Frerichs, (928) 476-3865.

A program will be held from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the Pine Elementary School, 3868 N. Pine Creek Drive, Pine. Contact Nancy Lombardi at (928) 476-6422 for more information.

Mountain Bible Church will host a program from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Building C, 302 E. Rancho Road, Payson. Fellowship, with refreshments, begins at 8:45 a.m. Call Jan Chapek, (928) 468-0384, for details.

A program, with patriotic emphasis and music by the students of Payson Community Christian School, is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. at Rumsey Park Ramada 5, west of the library, 328 N. McLane Road.

The final program of the day is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 1100 W. Lake Drive, Payson.
