The Payson Roundup is looking for volunteers to serve a four-month term on the next editorial board, beginning May 7. The board meets once a week, on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. to discuss the content of the newspaper's editorials.
The board consists of three community members and three members of the Roundup staff -- editor Tom Brossart, publisher John Naughton and a reporter. Board members are not required to write. Editorials are written by the newspaper staff or the editor, using feedback from the board. The Roundup is looking for people who are engaged in the community, but not elected officials or in the employ of elected officials.
Anyone interested in applying for this volunteer position should send a letter explaining why he or she would be a good choice. Include name, age, occupation and contact information.
Send a letter of application to Editor Tom Brossart, Payson Roundup, P.O. Box 2520, Payson, AZ 85547, drop it by the Roundup office at 708 N. Beeline Highway or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
