Leonard Long, of Strawberry, died March 31, 2008 in Star Valley. He was born April 5, 1948 in Inglewood, Calif.
Mr. Long was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was proud to serve his country with the 101st Airborne Army.
He grew up in Utah and later moved to Arizona. He earned his degree from Ottawa University in Phoenix.
He worked in various areas of the behavioral health field, where he met his wife, Christine. They married in 1995 and resided in Scottsdale with Christine's children.
In 2002 the family moved to Strawberry where Mr. Long retired from his work in behavioral health.
His family said he was a wonderful stepfather and husband and will be truly missed.
Mr. Long also had many friends in Star Valley, where he was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He also did volunteer work with the Pine/Strawberry Food Bank.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Long and his stepchildren, Erica Overton and Gregory Overton, all of Strawberry; son, Chet Long of Texas; mother, Enid Long; brother, Bradley Long; and sister, Nancy Johnson of Utah.
Military services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday April 28 at Prescott National Cemetery, 500 Highway 89 North in Prescott.
