Winter is over. Before the high heat of summer hits, make plans to get out and about around the state to enjoy some of the special spring events.

Keep April 26 free, that is the day of the big Beeline Cruise-In Car Show on West Main in Payson, presented by the Rim Country Classic Auto Club and honoring the 50th anniversary of the Beeline Highway.

April 23 through April 27 - Steal away up North 87 to Winslow for Winslow Railroad Days. See model trains from all over the region. The event features railroad history, vendors and many displays from several Arizona Railroad Clubs. Winslow is now a major hub for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. April 24 through April 27 - Bird lovers need to make a trip to the Verde Valley for the annual Verde Valley Birding & Nature Festival at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. The registration fee for the entire festival is only $10. This fee includes parking and admission to the park, and access to general workshops, exhibits and booths, and the Welcome Reception on Thursday evening.
