Support Senate Bill

Can you imagine that you followed a government mandate to the letter in an emergency situation and then five years later found yourself being sued because you did so? Most of us would find this too hard to believe, but it has happened to several banks and financial institutions in the past couple of years.

On Sept.12, 2001 the government issued orders that financial institutions should move financial instruments by digital technology because planes were grounded and money must move or the economy grinds to a halt. All of the large banks did as they were told and there was a seamless transfer of funds from coast to coast. We weren't inconvenienced at all.

There is a bill called the Check 21 Act moving in the Senate which will insulate these financial institutions from lawsuits. We need to understand it and support it.
