Lois Dean Julius, 87, of Payson, died in Payson on April 14, 2008 from the complications of a stroke.
She lived in Payson for the last 10 years and in Roosevelt since 1970.he was born in Granite City, Illinois on May 26, 1920 to Marion Jasper Burnett and Maude Jane Abbett Burnett.he grew up in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Manual High School.
She was married to Paul John Leonard of New Mexico in 1941, who was a member of the Doolittle Raid in 1942.hey had a boy, James Paul Leonard, in 1942.eonard died in Algeria in 1943 after the raid and never got to see his son.
Lois married Laurel Everett Julius in 1945 in Morrison, Colo.aurell was also a member of the Doolittle Raid.
They moved to Sleepy Eye, Minn. where three more children were born:acqueline Kay Julius Millard of Payson, Frederick Richard Julius of Milford, Utah and Susan Lorraine Julius Vierk of Burns, Wyo.hey later moved to Denver and had a set of twins, Pennie Lou Julius Smith of Phoenix, and Pamela Sue Julius Peltier of Gisela.hey raised their six children in Evergreen, Colo. Lois was a secretary for Continental Airlines in the 1960s.hen Lois and Dick retired, she loved to fish, create oil paintings, make crafts and do lots of cooking for her company and friends.
In addition to Paul Leonard, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Burnett, her second husband, Laurell Julius, her son, Frederick Julius and her daughter, Pennie Smith Julius.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Jean Burnett of Loveland, Colo. and Rosemary Maxwell of Mesa.he had 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A family service will be held in Roosevelt on April 27, 2008.
