My name is Walt Carson. My mother and father's first car was a 1932 Ford. In late 1941, my father won enough money in a poker game to buy the '32 Ford for $35, my mother made him sell it as she was pregnant with me.
I knew someday I would find a '32 five-window coupe, the same as my dad had bought, and build a hotrod. This car was found in Davenport Iowa, all original, steel car (see photo). The car was a two-year project completed by Arizona Street Rods in Phoenix.
We tried to keep the car looking like a '32 Ford but with a bit more horsepower and some modern additions. The car has a 383 Chevy, 700 R 4 transmission, air conditioning and much more. The car was completed in 2002 and we now have about 12,000 miles, we drive it! Every time we get in the '32 to take a ride or head to a car show it always takes us back to the '50s, the good old days. Oh, by the way, my mother loves to take a ride in the '32, anytime.
