Charles "Chuck" Elledge died April 23, 2008. He was a second generation American, born Dec. 25, 1928 in North Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. Elledge was well-known for his generosity, entertaining friends and the public as Santa and as different clowns. He was also well-known for his charitable acts for the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Elledge is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth "Betty"; daughter, Kathleen Varela; son, Charles W. Elledge Jr. and daughter, Janet Burkett, both of California. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3 at Melcher Mortuary Chapel of the Roses, 43 S. Stapley Dr. in Mesa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Elledge's name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
