The play's the thing


Mark your calendar on May 8 to attend spring play performances at the Pine Cultural Hall.

The Pine Library is partnering with the Pine-Strawberry School to present two plays.

Sandy Carver, youth program coordinator at Pine Library will direct PS junior high students in a one-act version of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End."

Students in grades one through five, under the direction of Patty Lawrence from PS School, will perform a musical titled "When Dorothy Meets Alice".

In it, the character Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" meets Alice from "Alice in Wonderland".

Curtain time is 6 p.m. There is no charge and the community is invited to attend.

Opera audition winners to perform in Payson

We've got winners! Yes, the Arizona Metropolitan Opera audition winners are coming to Payson.

Whether you enjoy arias from famous operas or familiar selections from Broadway theater, the afternoon will be a memorable one. Four outstanding vocal performers, sponsored by the Friends of Metropolitan Auditions, should be the hit of the season.

The concert will be presented in a venue enhancing the quality of music to be performed.

Don't delay in ordering your tickets for the coming event, to be held Sunday, May 4 at The Rim Club. Included in the ticket price of $75 is a buffet supper and a selection of wines, soft drinks, etc.
