On behalf of all the members of the Reaching Out Breast Cancer Support Group of the Payson area, thanks go out to all the folks connected with the Payson Pro Rodeo Committee for their hard work at the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Friday night rodeo event this past spring.
As a result of your efforts (and the public who attended), our organization has received aery generous donation to be used by any woman of the Rim Country area in need of financial help to battle breast cancer.
This may be in the form of unpaid balances after insurance has paid, expenses not covered by insurance, any form of treatment or items such as prostheses, mastectomy bras, wraps or sleeves needed in the treatment of lymphedema resulting from breast surgery, the cost of gasoline for trips to the Valley or elsewhere for treatment, or perhaps the cost of a motel ifour budget doesn't allow for these things. And a recipient does not have to be a member of the support group for this assistance.
If we can be of help with the use of these funds, just let us know who you are by calling 476-4298. Or perhaps you know of a friend or neighbor who could use this kind of assistance who might be hesitant to ask for herself. The identity of the recipient will be protected.
This is the third year in a row that the Pro Rodeo Committee has shared the proceeds of this event with breast cancer survivors. Wean't thank you enough.
Our support group meets from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., the second Thursday of every month at Mount Crossutheran Church on Highway 260, just past Safeway.
Any woman diagnosed with breast cancer is always welcome. Theres no obligation, noees, just support from women "who have been there."
If you're newly diagnosed, we'd especially like to see you, and if you're a longtime survivor, we can use you as inspiration for others.
