Arizona state primaries are coming up less than a month away on Sept. 2, 2008. To help voters make informed decisions The Center for Arizona Policy (CAP) has made available online a non-partisan 2008 Voters' Guide at VoteSmartAZ.org. The entire booklet can be printed out or just a particular district.
A complimentary printed copy is also available by calling (602) 424-2525 or 1-800-326-4591.
The CAP works to defend and get the truth out concerning family values issues at the state level.
After a long and hard-fought legislative session, CAP, along with the Arizona Catholic Conference and a number of key legislators, finally succeeded, on the final night of the session, in having a referendum (SCR 1042) passed placing a measure defining marriage as a union of one man and one woman on the November ballot.
Arizona already has such a statute, however, unless this provision is put into the Arizona constitution as well, a future state Supreme Court could overturn the statute as was recently done in California when a handful of judges was able to override the will of the people.
Let's not let that happen here!
