All you animal lovers out there, now is your time to let your pet be in the spotlight and to help out the Humane Society. It is time for the 2009 Payson Humane Society Pet Calendar and they can use your help.
Let your pet have 24 hours of fame by giving it a day to itself on their calendar. They need 366 pictures to fill the calendar.
The cost is a mere $20 per photo and a tax receipt will be issued for the photo amount. And calendars are $10 each. The calendars make great gifts. You can surprise a family member with a gift of a calendar with a photo of their pet on a day important to them.
The calendar project runs with all profits going to help care for the injured, lost and homeless animals. Final date for submission is Aug. 31, so you will need to get busy. I personally know of a lot of pet lovers here in Christopher Creek.
It doesn't have to be a dog it can be a cat, bird, fish, whatever. Margo you could put your bird, Dillon, in it, I am sure that would make Dillon dance. How about your iguana, Marilyn and Chuck? That would be cute. Jim and Victoria you have two lovely dogs, Nulla and Sadie. Laura and Mark your dog Shriek is adorable and last week when I was down that way I saw the cutest little puppy in your yard with Shriek, they would look adorable on the calendar.
They are also taking bids for the cover. Get the hint? Jo and Red, you have a cat you kind of adopted, although I forgot her name. Jim and Roberta how about Peewee? Mick and Lynn, you could put those adorable Corgis of your daughter's in there and give the calendar to them. Jarve and Judy, that speckled dog of yours would take a great picture.
Betty and Bob, your standard poodle and Debbie and Randy, those little guys of yours. Am I getting the message across? They need everyone's help. Not just Christopher Creek.
Those of you in Christopher Creek who cannot get to town and need a picture taken, just call me at (928) 478-4519 and I will be happy to take it and you can e-mail it in.
Dates are going quickly, so get your picture in soon. For more information on the calendar and how to get your picture taken professionally or to just make a donation, call Ellie Watson or Patti Keyworth at (928) 474-5590.
Don't forget, Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Firebelles will have brats and burgers at the fire hall. Also they will have a bake sale. All those wishing to bake, drop off your goodies before 11 a.m.
Tuesday night is game night at the fire hall, cards, dominos etc. at 6 p.m.
James Turco of Hunter Creek will be adding another candle to his cake on Aug. 17, and Red Armistead of Hunter Creek will be celebrating his birthday on Aug. 19. Hazel Gourdoux of Ponderosa Springs will be adding another candle to her crowded cake on Aug. 21. I have known Hazel for a long time now and I can say that to her. Just don't burn the house down girl.
