Delbert H. Winter

Delbert H. Winter, 79, died Dec. 3, 2008, surrounded by his children. He was born Feb. 19, 1929 in Sibley, Iowa.
He was a member of the 188th Regiment of the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army and served in the occupation of Japan.
Mr. Winter was a fireman and arson investigator for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
Upon retirement as a captain from the Los Angeles City Fire Department, he worked as a California State Fire Marshal and later as a private arson investigator.
He moved to Payson with his wife Jo Ann in January 2004.
Mr. Winter is survived by his three children, Michele, Eric and Jim, who live in Germany, Australia and California, respectively. He has two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2005.
Memorial donations may be made to Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church or to RTA Hospice and Palliative Care, Payson.
