A 27-year-old man drove his pickup truck into a Green Valley lake Wednesday afternoon allegedly while intoxicated.
Noah Rolf of Payson was charged with DUI after driving his white pickup into one of the smaller Green Valley lakes Dec. 10 around 4:30 p.m., said Police Chief Don Engler.
“The initial call that came in said a pickup was in the middle of Green Valley Lake, but it turned out to be more on the side,” Engler said.
Rolf reportedly lost control while making a turn and ended up in the lake.
The truck was surrounded by water up to the windows, Engler said.
Rolf was out of the truck by the time authorities arrived and was uninjured. No walkers were injured, nor any of the waterfowl in the lake.
The truck was towed out shortly after Rolf was arrested.
Engler said this is the third time he can remember someone driving into the lake.
