The Lady Horns are back in the win column with a 51-35 victory over Florence Dec. 9.

“We had a very hard time with foul trouble this game,” said coach Stacy Anderson.

“We were happy to get out of there with a win.”

The Horns dominated in points all four quarters, with the closest gap coming in the second quarter when they were able to stay only 7 points up.

The quarter scores were: 16-8; 24-17; 35-23; and 51-35.

Leading scorers in the game were Cydney Figueroa with 12 and Kayla Morgan and Jenna Robertson, both with 9.

The Lady Longhorns will be racking up miles on the hardboards in the next week. They start with hosting the Holiday Hoops Tournament Dec. 12 and 13; the girls travel to Sedona Dec. 16; and then head to Winslow for another tournament Dec. 18, Dec. 19 and Dec. 20.

After that, there is a break in play (if not practices) until Jan. 3, when the Lady Horns host Estrella Foothills with game times slated for noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
