Payson High School varsity volleyball coach Arnold Stonebrink says Jenna Robertson, Cydney Figueroa and Laughlin Potvin were named to participate in the 3A All-Star match for the North team.

The tournament will be held at 3 p.m., June 20 at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher.

Stonebrink was named the North head coach; the assistant coach will be Amelia Holtsoi, Window Rock’s head coach.

Robertson was also named to the 3A All-State volleyball team. The team was selected by all 3A coaches, and Robertson was one of the 15 selected to the team.

“I was very pleased with the selection. Jenna has been my best blocker each of the last three seasons. She was my second best hitter her sophomore year, and her junior and senior years, she was my best hitter,” Stonebrink said.

“She was always strong, determined, and fierce at the net. Jenna wasn’t satisfied to just play front row; she worked hard on her back row play.

“The result was she played this whole past season in the back row, and was a valuable cog in this, the best passing team I’ve ever had. Also, she developed an evil, destructive jump serve that resulted in 70 aces, second best on the team. Her work ethic, commitment to constant improvement and determination will serve her well no matter what sport(s) she chooses to play in college,” the coach said.
