Tonto Creek flooding information is now available at the Tonto Basin Fire Station. Residents on the east side of Tonto Creek can get information on operation hours for the emergency center, delivery times for necessities, and updated creek information in fire station number two’s parking lot, located on Elm Street and Mimosa Street.
Volunteers Jack Urick and Glen Swanson installed the information board. Gila County Emergency Management will also be operating an emergency center when the creek floods.
Gila County’s Emergency Volunteer program has been the most active in Tonto Basin with more than half of all volunteers in the county living in Tonto Basin, according to Leana Asberry, Volunteer Coordinator.
To volunteer call Asberry at (928) 402-8805 or (800) 304-4452 ext. 8805.
