Santa arrived at the fire station with his sirens blaring and a “Ho! Ho! Ho!” to all the little ones.

The children decorated food boxes and each child told Santa what they wanted for Christmas. Santa read them a story and handed each of them a stocking full of gifts, and told them to be good.

’Twas the Night Before Christmas

’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through our house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse, except for Chipper the chipmunk who has lived in the attic for over nine years now.

Frankie and Buddy’s stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. My husband’s asleep in his favorite chair, snoring so loud as if anyone would care. Frankie’s all nestled and snug in her bed, while visions of sugarplums dance in her head.

Buddy the dog was asleep on the loveseat, but if you turned and looked, one eye would open, hoping for a treat. As I sit on the couch, I wonder if my job is all done? Oh, not to worry, this is so much fun. I think I’ll have a sip of milk and a nibble of the cookies; it’s just another pound or two! Oh my!

Are all the gifts under the tree? What about the small one’s for the stockings? Oh, where can they be? Every year, I find something I put away from the year before. Could it be my vision is poor? Or maybe my mind doesn’t remember what they were for.

It’s almost midnight, so I must hurry. Clean up the paper and all the bows and tape. Hurry before it is too late.

I rush and put on my pj’s and I jump into bed. I open The Book to Luke 2:9-11 and read, and behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the Glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.

Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Happy Birthday, Jesus.

Wishing each and everyone of you a very blessed and Merry Christmas!
