After juggling three businesses for several years, Andy and Cindy Kofile decided to tackle one more and opened Re-Runs Resale Boutique in August.
In less than four months, the Kofiles have seen their consignment store, at 404 W. Main St., take off and outrun all sales predictions.
“People love the store,” Cindy said. “With the economy the way it is, more people are buying consignment.”
The boutique sells name brand men’s and women’s clothing, housewares and jewelry on consignment from more than 120 consignors. The Kofiles describe themselves as yard sale and auction enthusiasts, and Re-Runs is the outcome of their love for all things used.
Before anything is hung up for sale, it must be washed and pass Cindy’s standards.
“I like to get name brands, so people don’t have to go through 100 items to get one thing,” Cindy said.
One-of-a-kind vintage finds are the shop’s specialty, but Cindy makes them easy to spot as a personal shopper.
“People want to find stuff, and we help them find it,” she said. “We will help them shop because we know where everything is.”
Cindy describes one customer who walked around the store for an hour and almost left with nothing, until Cindy pointed out several pieces she would like. Andy said seeing customers smile when they find something unique is priceless.
Andy said with business beating all expectations, they hope to expand into a neighboring shop in 2009.
The Kofiles said they are heavily involved with Main Street and are dedicated to seeing the area succeed.
“We came to Main Street because we believe you can’t complain about something unless you are willing to do something about it,” Andy said.
The Kofiles live near the Green Valley Redevelopment Area, own the building that houses the KCMA radio station and run Spectrum Wireless, LLC. They also serve on the Main Street Merchants Guild and volunteer with numerous community organizations.
