Jackson Chester McDoniel, 81, died Jan. 28, 2008 in Clinton, Ark. He was born June 26, 1926 in Cord, Ark., the son of Gertrude and Ernest McDoniel.
He is survived by his wife Jan and three sons Rickie Houston of Lucedale, Miss., Bryan Wayne of Purvis, Miss., Glenn Allen of Peoria, Ariz. and two daughters Yvonne Dalene Kneifel of Bryant, Ark. and Ellen Marie Kitchen of Payson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. McDoniel left Arkansas in 1939, finished high school and served in the Navy until the World War II was over.
He worked in the copper mines and was an electrician for Phelps Dodge in Bisbee, Ariz., retiring there. He then went to Phoenix and retired from AT&T.
After leaving AT&T, Mr. McDoniel moved to and built a retirement home in Payson, Ariz., where he enjoyed fishing and hunting and many friends. He moved back to Arkansas in 2005. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was always kind to his fellow man.
