Robert W. (Bob) Callahan, age 72, died at his home in Tonto Basin, Ariz. on Feb. 1, 2008.
He was born in Washington State and moved to Arizona at a young age.
He was an Air Force veteran and worked for the City of Phoenix Fire Department before becoming an Arizona Highway Patrol officer.
He retired early from the highway patrol and went on to build and manage Bob's Corral Steakhouse with his wife, Juanita, near his home in Forest Lakes, Ariz.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carol Callahan and Connie Tapia; son-in-law Mark Tapia; two grandsons Michael and Kyle Tapia; his brother Dennis Callahan and sister Joy Dahl.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Juanita.
There are no immediate services planned, however the family is planning a celebration of life events to honor both Bob and Juanita later this spring, at a time and location to be determined.
