The two officers involved in the Feb. 11 shooting incident have been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is completed.

"It is a common procedure," said Payson Police Chief Don Engler.

The officers fired shots when an allegedly suicidal woman confronted them with a weapon Monday evening.

It is currently unclear if the woman, Jacque Raw Rosholm, fired shots at the police officers.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the shooting. Until the DPS work is finished, the two officers will not be identified, Engler said.

Additionally, the determination of how many shots were fired and who was responsible for the injuries sustained will not be released until the investigation is complete, the police chief said.

Engler said the woman injured in the incident in the 1900 block of East Granite Dells Road is 48 and her condition is listed as serious. She was transported to Scottsdale Osborn.

The officers were not injured.
