Anthony J. Plonski, 87, of Payson, died Feb. 18, 2008.
He was born Oct. 14, 1920 in New York City, but had made his home in Payson, with his wife of 62 years, Elsie, for more than 30 years.
Mr. Plonski served with the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II and was a member of the Payson Town Council for 10 year. He was a lifetime member of Kiwanis and an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
Mr. Plonski volunteered with the Payson Police Department, the St. Vincent de Paul Rim Country Food Bank and the Payson Senior Citizens Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one son.
Surviving Mr. Plonski are his wife, Elsie; son, Tony Plonski Jr. of Connecticut; daughters, Tricia and David Wolfe of Tempe; Beverly and Stephen Fuqua of Phoenix; daughter-in-law, Rena of Peoria; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
