Earl Finley


Earl Finley died Feb. 23, 2008 in Payson. He was born July 3, 1924 in Basin, Wyo. to Harry and Phoebe Finley.

He was married to Edythe Williamson on Nov. 11, 1952. They had 55 wonderful years together.



Mr. Finley was a member of local 77 Electrical Union in Seattle, Wash., working on construction for many years throughout the Western United States. In 1966, he joined the Snohomish County Public Utility District in Everett, Wash. They retired him May 1980, due to a power line accident.

He was a member of Crystal Lodge #122 Masonic Lodge at Marysville, Wash. for 60 years and a member of the Greater Payson Moose Lodge, transferring from Marysville, Wash., for 38 years.

He lived in Arizona for 20 years, eight years at Quartzsite, Ariz., being a rockhound and a member of the Roadrunners Gem and Mineral club. The couple moved to Payson in 1996 and resided at Lamplighter RV Resort for the past 12 years.

Survivors are his wife Edythe, sons, Dennis Scott (Delece) Finley and Joseph (Jonnie) Finley, grandsons Christopher Glen Finley, great-grandson, Hyden, granddaughter Tracy Finley, sister Charlotte (Charles) Downey and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, Lester and Fred and sisters Ellen and Roxie.

A memorial service will be held at Lamplighter RV Resort at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 15. Service will be held with lunch to follow at same place.
