A range of new dance classes has been added to the Dynamite Gymnastics school curriculum.

"Due to the high demand of lesson requests, I am going to open classes in March," Dynamite owner and teacher Karen Smith said. "We will be offering a full range of dance training including tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, technique and combo classes for the little ones."

Also included are cheer and competition trainings.

All classes will be offered in skill groups, from beginning through advanced, for ages 3-years to adult.

"We are striving to be a full-spectrum sports center meeting all the needs of aspiring athletes," Smith said.

The lead instructor will be Smith, who has 25 years of experience, and has won several international awards while teaching professional dancers around the country.

Longtime residents will re-member Smith taught gymnastics locally, in the 1980s, at the TNT Dancers studio. Smith moved away from the Rim Country, only to return last September.

Also on the Dynamite staff are her daughters Kari Klimuck and Kirsten Massa.

Klimuck, Smith said, "specializes in contemporary lyrical and jazz and has been teaching for 12 years and performing since the age of 18 months."

To accommodate the new classes, the studio will soon be installing wood dance floors.
