Lee E. Mcclanahan


Lee E. McClanahan died Jan. 6, 2008. Born in Modesto Calif. he moved to Wickenburg, Ariz. when he was 3 and later to Tucson.
He moved his family to Phoenix so he could go to Grand Canyon College in 1957 and graduated in 1959. He moved to Pine in 1960. He soon helped start the First Southern Baptist Church in Payson. He was later involved in starting many Southern Baptist churches in the area including: Star Valley, Tonto Village and Pine. He spent most of his life supervising volunteers building and remodeling churches across the West and telling people that the God of the Bible was real and wants to have a personal relationship with them.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie. He is survived by his son Teel D. McClanahan; grandchildren April, Teel, Angela, Heath; and great-grandchildren Kalvin, Garrett, Tirso.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Church on Randall in Pine. He requested that instead of flowers, that donations be made to The Gideons International for Bibles.
