Pine View Glad To Have Been Turned Green

Editor:

It started in October, when Malissa Buzan, Program Manager of the Gila County Housing Services Department, and her amazing crews began to turn Pine View Manor GREEN.

First, it was sealing the areas of the heater/hot water closets, checking and sealing the ductwork to make them more energy-efficient. Next came new remote control air conditioner units for every apartment. Out with the old units and in with the new. The final stage was done with an incredible crew from the Gila County office in Globe, and Rick Cory from our county office, what removed old refrigerators and brought in the new energy efficient ones. There are 29 apartments here, this was a big job, but these folks made it seem easy and fun.

This special project was made possible by partnerships with Arizona Public Service, Arizona Department of Housing, Arizona Department of Energy, Arizona Community Action Association and The Gila County Housing Department. Wow! -- We are so pleased and proud to have been a part of this process.

Thanks again to everyone, especially Malissa, who helped to make this weatherization project happen.
