"Attitude--a little thing that makes a big difference."

Pet peeve:

When students use the words: "Stupid," "I can't," and "Shut up."

Favorite hobby or leisure activity:

Hiking, canoeing, reading, and playing hearts or spades on the Internet.

Why the Rim Country? Because it's not Phoenix.

Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel), because I like his messages.

In school, who was your favorite teacher and why?

Ms. Brown -- she taught second grade and while in middle school, I was her student assistant. She gave me my first teaching experience and a sense of self-worth.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

It was my psychology class during my sophomore year in high school. That's when I knew I wanted to work with teenagers.
