Prescription Assistance In Town Wednesday

The "Help is Here Express" bus tour from the Partnership for Prescription Assistance will be in Payson Wednesday, Jan. 23.

There will be counselors available to help uninsured and financially struggling residents access information on programs that provide prescription medicines for free or nearly free. Those interested can also find out about new medicines in development to fight chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease and asthma.

The bus will be at the Payson Regional Medical Center Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Hwy., Payson from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23.

The service is for everyone, not just seniors. Those making use of the service should bring their prescriptions.

This is a national program funded by American pharmaceutical companies. It has helped nearly 5 million patients, including more than 65,000 in Arizona.

Trained specialists are on the staff to quickly help uninsured patients in need access information on more than 475 patient assistance programs, including nearly 200 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies.
