It was standing room only at Creekside Saturday evening as just about everyone came out to celebrate Candy Hart's 60th birthday.
Candy joined some of her friends for dinner in the president's room before the party.
Larry and Patty Boesling from the OW Ranch, along with Charles and Wilene Byrne from Tonto Basin, Karen Thornton, Bob and Sam Conklin, drove up from Tucson and her best friend Jan Thompson came up from the Valley. Candy flew in from Buffalo to spend this mile marker year with her family here in Christopher Creek.
Lynda St. John was the entertainment for the evening, with some help from Bud Light John.
Patty Boesling presented Candy with a large birthday cake and everyone sang as Candy blew out the candles and made a wish.
It was just like old times again at Creekside. People were even standing out in the lobby because it was so crowded in the bar. The music was great -- you just can't beat Lynda St. John, she has a terrific voice.
Candy will be around for another week then she will be heading back off to Buffalo.
Mark your calendars because you don't want to miss the 50th Anniversary ride of the Hashknife Pony Express. They will be riding from Holbrook through Christopher Creek on Wednesday traveling 200 miles from Holbrook to Scottsdale and delivering 20,000 first-class letters on horseback.
Because the Super Bowl is in Phoenix, the riders will also be delivering the football and the coin for the coin toss in the Super Bowl. That's pretty awesome!
A lot of the Riders can be seen at Creekside around noon.
Bring your cameras and get ready for a very fun afternoon.
The media center will be outside on the patio where ESPN will be on hand for this event. ESPN will cover this special event all the way to the Valley.
The riders will be selling autograph posters and there will be a branding party with their original branding iron.
This is one event you don't want to miss. So, head out to Creekside Steakhouse for all the fun. Plan on coming early, have some lunch and meet the riders and celebrate 50 years with the Hashknife Pony Express.
